This short film recreates King John's death scene at the end of the play. Based on Shakespeare's play, Act V, Scene vii: King John is in torment, and his supporters fear that his end is near. As he writhes in agony, he is attended by Prince Henry, the Earl of Pembroke, and Robert Bigot. Prince Henry tries repeatedly to comfort his delirious father, but to no avail - John's pain is too great
Trivia: The first known Shakespeare film, only one of the four scenes survives, King John's death scene.

Suffragette Emily Davison Killed by King's Horse - 1913

Prior to the First World War, women's rights were a regular item of Pathé newsreels. One great landmark in the history of Pathe scoops was one of their cameras capturing the extreme sacrifice by the suffragette Emily Davison. In the blink of an eye, Davison runs from the crowds and throws herself under the King's horse. Crowds of people run on to the track to try and help both the fallen rider and Davison. Davison died several days later in hospital.

Papa is taking his daughter Mabel to an automobile race. Mabel is in love with Teddy Tetzlaff, but Papa prefers Earl Cooper, and he schemes to try to prevent Tetzlaff from winning the race. As the race begins, Papa and Mabel are watching it together with conflicting loyalties and strong emotions.
Factual errors
The main titles and the inter-titles both misspell race car driver Teddy Tetzlaff's name as "Tetzlaft". His name is shown spelled correctly when his racing car is seen with the name painted on it.
