"Making a
Stetson" is a one-reel short in 16mm that I picked up on eBay several
years ago, missing its main title. I couldn't find out anything about the film,
until a print of a ca. 1920 film called "Birth of a Hat" turned up in
2010 at the New Zealand Film Archive. My print, probably from 1940s, is almost
identical except that the factory scenes in the last half of the film appear to
have been re-shot, for some reason. For a comparison, you can watch the
