This site is dedicated to the preservation of memory of silent films. Although they were quite important in the evolution of cinema, they remain virtually forgotten nowadays. De Postiljon - 1915

An old Pathé Russia film around a fun fair in a Russian hamlet. The driver of a sled tells the story to his lady passenger. In a small village a girl falls in love with a boy. Her father opposes. He has cast his eye on a rich suitor for her. She gives in and marries the wealthier party. A wedding feast follows. The film gives a unique view of old Russian farmers' life.
